Overview

David Jeng’s October 2026 portfolio records a consultancy assignment for the International Finance Corporation’s Local Champions Initiative, focused on The Gambia’s creative industries.

The context

The assignment is contracted through SAS Consult GM Co. Ltd and spans scoping in January through work in October 2026. Its purpose is to identify local champion firms and inform IFC and World Bank support to the sector.

David applied the LCI methodology, developed the inception report and interviewee list, and administered firm-level research. The portfolio places fieldwork in September and October 2026 and describes the work as being in its final phase.

Creative-sector mapping requires attention to the different businesses, relationships and routes to market within the sector. The assignment adds to David’s experience combining enterprise research with development-programme objectives.

This update reflects the portfolio’s status at the time of compilation. It does not announce final findings, selected firms or financing commitments.

David’s professional contribution

David combines direct work with businesses and experience in institutional programmes. His assignments span creative-industry mapping, tourism enterprise development, employer research and climate-related development initiatives. He serves as a Director of SAS Consult and founder of Bliss Executives, bringing research, facilitation and practical enterprise support into consulting engagements.

Understanding the scope

The assignment describes a specific role within a wider institutional programme. Programme delivery, diagnostics and reporting are different activities. The information above identifies the stage and outputs recorded in the portfolio, without extending them into unreported business or financial outcomes. Where follow-up is described as planned or in preparation, it remains distinct from completed delivery.
