Beyond the presentation
Knowing a concept differs from applying it. A founder may understand why IP matters and still need help identifying assets or organising questions. Training, diagnostics and mentorship serve different stages of that process.
Understand the enterprise
The supplied audit describes a Gambian coaching cohort of 50 SMEs, 95% women-led. The portfolio records separate assignments in Zimbabwe and across Sub-Saharan Africa. These are distinct activities and should not be merged into one programme result.
Use diagnostics to guide support
EYIC included diagnostics for 49 SMEs. A diagnostic helps identify questions and priorities; it is not itself a registration, sale or financing outcome. That distinction makes reporting more informative.
Make coaching specific
One founder may need branding support while another needs to clarify customer information. Respond to those differences with appropriate tasks and follow-up. Giving everyone the same exercise may conceal the needs that a programme is intended to address.
Recognise different outputs
EYIC records 33 brand identities and mentorship for 48 entrepreneurs from 20 countries. The Zimbabwe project worked with 50 enterprises. The figures describe activities and scope, rather than unreported financial outcomes.
Report programme stages
The portfolio describes WACEMS as ongoing through December 2026 and Zimbabwe and EYIC as completed. State the stage reached and keep future activities visibly planned. A timetable and a completion report answer different questions.
Make the next action useful
An enterprise can begin with an inventory, focused question and agreed task. A programme team can improve its diagnostic, exercises or reporting framework. The shared principle is to connect knowledge with a decision people need to make.
Follow up with participants
Ask what participants attempted and which barriers they encountered. Feedback can show whether the learning was relevant and whether additional coaching is needed. It also gives programme teams evidence for adjusting delivery.
